Title: Samsung curved 4k set selling around £650
Post by: bonesy on August 08, 2017,09:50:06
A bit of a half arse post i'm afraid, but just had one in 49" broken screen, sorry no model no,but cheap ish 4K set.Turns out these were sold with a 5 yr Curry's/PC world warranty, which includes accidental
damage.
Point No 2,under the stand three small screws, the rest appear to be clipped all the way around.
Now I've never not got the back off a set before, but this thing did not want to let go,got so far & clicked it back together.I think it would be very easy to break case or even screen taking apart.
Anyone else had a large screen Sammy like this?

Hi bonesy,

Didn't 'Bruce' mention a while ago that Sammy's now have a plastic back flipping tool, screws being expensive - Chris.

Chris, you're sharp as a tack. No old timers? Yes, Samsung have a tool (Jemmy) for getting the back off. Can't recall where I posted it and can no longer find the

article on my computer. Also hear these curved screen are spontaneously cracking on the inside.

Chinese screw manufacturers have had it too good for too long. Must have made a killing in recent years, but looks like the gravy train has ground to a halt.

Better late than never. A lot of newer Samsungs have no cabinet screws whatsoever. They're clipped together like a remote control. And none inside -all boards are mounted in
slide holders.

This is the tool Samsung have developed for opening their cabinets.
