Hi All Have this samsung ue 48h6400ak Fault is no backlights but if the tcon is disconnected then the lights come on.Replaced tcon but still same Any ideas very welcome

-Check fuse on T-con board
-Replace T-CON board

Hi Al,

Reconnect everything and unplug the harness between the psu and main board. Connect the tv to the mains. If PSU and backlights are functional, the backlights will come on automatically. If they do, it means the main board is faulty.               Bruce

Hall Al  , had a fault like this . If you read between the fuse on the TCon and chassis it may read a short . If it does if you look at the long board that has the ribbons on it going to the screen you will see a lot of small white caps . Think there are 6 in a row . I found one of the S/C. Its just a matter of finding out which one is S/C. Think it was the second or third one from the left on mine . Just took it out didnt replace and TV still working and that must be 6 months ago
