Title: Samsung UE32J5500AK - Half picture.
Post by: Turnip on November 10, 2017,06:48:26
Hi folks,

Got one in where LH side picture OK, RH side vertical coloured bands. Swapped over the T/con to screen flexies - same.

Thought maybe T/con itself but Ebay is full of 'em real cheap and the model has about 170 entries for most everything apart from screens, all rather cheap.

Wonder if duff screens are an issue with this set ? - Chris.

Hi Chris, I'd suspect the panel. Disconnect the flexi going to the crook 1/2 of the screen. The good half should operate normally. Then reconnect the flexi and remove the other one. If you get no picture or garbage, then it's the panel.                     Bruce

Thanks Bruce,

Did as you suggested - Crook side, blank white screen, other side normal. Reconnected crook side and disconnected the other - Vert coloured lines and a blank screen other (Good) side.

Guess duff screen but noticed if I flexed the flexie on the duff side the vertical pattern would change colour or even become a block of a single colour. Guess a capacitive effect maybe. If I flexed the actual screen drive board on the duff side - No difference - Thanks - Chris.
