You will be lucky obtaining screens, just deter them by putting silly prices forward.

Geesh, had a 16 month old LG 42" a month ago with a cracked screen, "The little lad kicked a ball at the screen", I don't blame their 10 year old lad - I blame the parents!

My reply "Clod it and buy a new one", they were little aggrieved I didn't want to know.... according to them they think parts come ten a penny.

They didn't tell me the screen was cracked, "Our little lad kicked the ball at it and the picture looks like a spiders web", I bet they knew alright.

I still get em' the sound valve or the picture valve's gone, once in a blue moon, "it's just a fuse or a resistor",  never ever a capacitor or a chip ever!

Hi Shaun, I guess we all cop this, but the fact is that no mfr carries spare panels, preferring to replace the complete TV if its within warranty and presents with a faulty panel. Quite a few people want to claim it under insurance and my spiel on the damage report is that the cost of replacing a panel will exceed the replacement price of the TV. The TV is beyond reasonable repair. Never had any queries from the insurers.                Bruce

Not easy to quote now all the good wholesalers of spare parts have gone. When CHS LTD were still with us 9 out of ten times I could get some prices, but always a waste of time, due to very high costs .I've never replaced a screen unless a warranty job for a manufacturer.A lot of brands now not even an option,so always include the phrase in engineers report "beyond economical repair" very rarely will the insurer reject the report. In the UK John Lewis as a retailer, very good all sets carry 5 yr warranty against standard failure(not smashed up sets" had a customer a couple of weeks back,Panasonic, blue line down screen 4yrs & 10 mths old, replaced with a good Samsung 40" & new 5yr warranty free of charge, now you can't beat that for service.

Have a look here

There are prices for various screens, and the customer can see the prices!
