don't know if this will work, if it has a power button on the tv press and hold it in  for 8 seconds, it will either come on or start flashing error codes thanks

Hi Shaun,

I think that's an urban myth. You must have got lucky. I tried it on a faulty Panasonic but no joy.

Hi Dave,

Code 3 is a 3.3V sos - usually the A-Board (Main). Can you be sure that the replacement is OK?
Will do some further research and let you know if I come up with anything.

Update, Dave,

There is a possibility that the SC board will cause code 3 - it can cause codes 3,4,5,6,7 or 10. However, you can isolate the A board to the point where it will operate on it's own although in effect the set will not function, the A board will still be active.

Unplug SC2 and SC20 on the SC board, SS11 on the SS board, P35 on the P board and the 3 flat white flexies on the A board.
Power the tv on. If you still get a blink code, the A board is the prime suspect.

Suspect you may have gotten an A board out of a different size screen. I went through this exercise last week. First board gave me code 3, next board gave another code, finally had to call in a favour from a friend and got the right board. These boards all looked identical and had the same number but obviously have different software loaded for different size screens. I think it's the suffix, so a TNPH0784GA may not replace a TNPH0784EA. Anyway, you're on the right track.           Bruce

Sorry for the delay but I eventually found it was the power supply board that was faulty.
thanks all.

Well, tie me up and tie me down! PSU would be my last suspect. Anyhow, an outcome.                     Bruce
