Title: Panasonic TX-P50GT30B - 7 Flash issue
Post by: Turnip on March 08, 2018,06:15:30
Hi folks,

Got one in where the Y-Sus IGBTs are mostly S/C. Note a kit is available on Ebay but wonder if repair is viable due to other possible issues - Thanks for thoughts - Chris.

Hi Chris,

SC boards for these are as rare as rocking horse s$*t. Kit may be only option even if outcomes are a tad dubious.    Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Thought go for it, if just for fun. Guess a personal learning curve as don't think Plasma will catch on, well, not with me as the buffers and screen are also possibly duff.

Great news with the Sammy edge-lit biz though - Just need suitable glue that likes heat - Chris.

Hi Bruce,

Went well - My second Pana Y-Sus, though initially confused as forgot to refit the flexy from the SSB as got tucked under the board and I didn't notice for a while.

Pleasant repair job as usually seems caused by sparking board earths and loose screws where Pana forgot that solder flows under pressure, but buffers don't seem to suffer.

Thanks again for the 'Heads Up' - Chris.
