Title: Linsar 37LCD507 (Vestel)
Post by: Turnip on April 25, 2018,10:32:49
Hi folks,

Got one in where it usually comes on normally, but after a while the Red S/by Led flashes at second intervals with the set still working normally, then it cuts to S/by and sometimes comes on again, or not.

Changed the usual suspects in the P/S but no difference so suspect it's the 17MB70-5P V1 050511 SSB. Wonder if anyone has had the problem ? - Thanks - Chris.

If its a 17MB25 main board, check this out, might be some info you can dig out.

Thanks Dave,

It's a 17MB70-5P main board with a heat sink covering the M/proc. Noticed similar with Sony 'EX' series, where the heat sink always indicates SSB death, and unlike LG you can't cook 'em to perfection.

Noticed several on Ebay, but they're hens teeth, and usually 42 inch versions up at £65.00 plus. As it's a 2009 set, don't think to bother.

Guess a known SSB issue, though I usually like Vestel if I get the panel codes right - Chris.

hi turnip
just  let u know electotania does a firmware for that panel listed under different makes
always copy original and try one of those it may cure yours if not can always put original back, used to work for agent to several makes of tv ie pana, sony hitachi and was always told to update firmware first as it often cured miscellanias faults

Thanks 'Cat'

Downloaded from Electrotanya as you suggested. Want to get original firmware on USB stick (Just in case) but can't find the option using Menu 3725 or 7935 where can copy NVRAM data - Any thoughts ? - Chris.

hi turnip
had a look at diagram but no way to copy original from set .have you tried reset? if so would suggest checking 3.3v supply and crystal x1,x2 had intermitant crystals before theres also a 1uf from pin 37 off m/processer as tend to find low value caps go o/c
