Title: LG firmware
Post by: Geoff S on April 27, 2018,06:14:09
Hi guys,

A bit of an odd one but, I've had a call from someone who has brought their LG Tv over from South Africa and don't have the UK option on the installation set up.

I don't have the model yet but I'm wondering if loading UK firmware is a possibility? (I do know it's a curved TV, so not too old)

Geoff

hi geoff s
be easier to fit a stand alone freeview box
always thought africa was analogue pal b reception if thats so tuner would only be analogue type but if it does recieve digital would need to change
audio crystal if its not inside an i/c hence £25 quid freeview box would be cheaper

That's my thought too. I did mention that to them but they're hoping for a fix.

I guess depending on the model I might be able to source a main board.

Good call though. Thanks Astracat

Regularly happens that TVs are locked on the burn-in mode. A reset may clear it but you'll need the LG service remote - press InStart

button.
