Title: techinka lcd 40- 270

afternoon fella's had his technika lcd40-270 come in flashing red standby light, open it up found 3 470uf 35v swollen and and 1500uf 10v swollen replaced all the caps  now i've got no standby light faint ticking sound power is a G0281D mainboard is a T-MSD306.8B-2, 5V  3.4 no 12v snookered thanks for your time

Hi Shaun,

You'll need an Eeprom programmer where you - Copy the old file just in case - Blank the Eeprom then reload with fresh data where it might work, or not, if the new data is duff or from a slightly different SSB/Screen combination.

Most Eeproms can be read, blanked and reloaded on the board. Biggest problem is to get the 8 pin clip to locate correctly.

Sometimes takes 50 tries before chip can be read, other times it's a doddle and works first time.

Otherwise remove the chip and use a chip holder which always works, but then you have the issue of removal and replacement without damaging the SSB print.

It's all a bit of a pain, but possible - Chris.

Suspect best option if you have one. Eeproms can be a bit of a pain due to various issues- Chris.
