Title: Hitachi (Vestel 17IPS20) 50HYT62U.

Hi folks,

Had one in where the mains fuse and bridge rectifiers had popped (17IPS20) Thought the worst but noticed with a series lamp that the PFC transformer (TR100) was smoking a bit. Seems it had run hot and shorted primary to secondary.

Had a spare from an otherwise duff panel, and surprisingly the set worked. Gather the secondary goes somewhere, but couldn't sort from the schematic where it goes to, though one end goes to chassis.

Being dubious, got a spare board from Ebay, just in case it poops - Chris.

Thanks Dave,

Think my copy came from the same place. What it is, is that the tag from TR100 goes to 'ZCD' whatever that is and after a brief look I couldn't find it, so thought take a chance with 200 watts in series and plug it in, Brief bulb flashes every few seconds so gave it mains. Still going after a couple of days - Chris.
