Title: LG 42LH3000 AS15 issue.
Post by: Turnip on October 11, 2018,12:01:49
Hi folks,

Got one in where the AS15-HF is likely duff.

Wonder if an AS15-F would sort it ? - Some folks suggest that every AS15 is exactly the same regardless of suffix but I'm unsure.

This one is the first I've met where the body is soldered to the board - Thanks for any thoughts - Chris.

Hi Chris,

That will work just fine - see equivalents list. If in doubt re heat, get some of that gooey rubber heat transfer blocks commonly used under main boards etc, and pack it between the top of the IC and the metal T-con cover.                Bruce

Many thanks Jordan and Bruce,

Fitted the AS15-F - Twice, as suspect shorted a pin the first time. Although a cheapskate won't try resolder one previously used as only a pound a pop. Guess the HF version has the solder pad underside.

Now have ISL9860 to try sort on Sammy/Sharp T/cons, and they don't have any pins to solder first to get the geometry right - Guess there's a way ? - Chris.
