Title: panasonic tx50a400b

hi fells'a anyone had this fault, panasonic tx-50a400b input selection keeps popping up on the screen, the customer is dropping it off in  an hour, right took back off nothing on the psu i can see, menu pops input menu pop up  power standby light flashing it's got mind of it's own thanks ps happens when the tv gets warm

Hi Shaun,


Commonly caused by leaky tact switches on the side control board. Not common for Panasonic but they're probably not Panasonic any more.

It could be any one of the buttons, not necessarily the Source button, and may not show on an ohm-meter. If it can be done, try running the TV with the side buttons unplugged. If it behaves, you'll have to start replacing those tact switches one by one till the fault clears.

Just verify that it's not the remote causing it first.

hi bruse thanks. i disconnected the cable from psu other cable still attach to the mainboard it was still doing it cheers

Strange, the TV's controls usually go to the main board only - are you sure you pulled the right plug?

hi bruse i replace the mainboard seems to have cured the input /menu popping up, but the tv guide i can't select a channel have retuned but still not working thanks
