Title: Lg 42lb650v
Post by: EVILMRB on November 07, 2018,15:41:09
Hello been given this TV, but by the look of it I think the Panel is faulty. Can someone please confirm if I am right or wrong before I go and strip for parts.

You are more than likely right, there *may* be a cure, it's the ribbon connectors to the TV panel itself that makes the connections to the pixels.

You could try pressing hard with finger and thumb all round the plastic trim, this may confirm the problem. One cure is to try and pack some foam around the edge of the screen to hold the ribbon firmly against the panel... this is not a permanent cure but may extend the life of the panel a little longer.

I've known folks been ripped off by this method, if swapping panels use the same panel/screen number.
