Hi folks,
S/by Led normal. Press On - Led flashes slowly then after a few seconds reverts to standby. PS appears OK. Thought check screen Leds - All OK, 6 strings with 30.1v on each string. Wonder if it's a common issue, maybe SSB ?
Thanks for any thoughts - Chris.

Hi Chris, quite sure it's a SSB issue ;a few minutes in the oven... as Bruce indicates could do the job.

I left a LG main board in the oven for over an hour the other day - missed the count-down timer alarm and forgot about it. Thought it would be done for - the plastic strips along the input ports were a molten mess. Luckily I had a spare set and the board worked a treat. It was priced at $686AU new. Bruce

Hi Mike and Bruce,
Many thanks, thought as much. Checked Ebay where everything else for the set is cheap, which is a bit of a pointer. Did much the same on an older board and melted both the Scart sockets where Cust was amazed as he couldn't push the plugs in. Took a whole morning to replace them from a scrap board - Chris.

Upshot. After 10 Mins at 200C start declining to 140 C with only the oven fan running - Perfect, for the moment.
Guess won't give any guarantee longer than my street as have had to cook some boards several times when the screen states 'Life's Good' but nothing else.
Again, many thanks - Chris.

Don't quote me on this Chris but I'm sure (on this model) faulty leds wouldn't invoke standby. Had one in a few weeks ago, I was lucky but an in-stop got me out of it. On yours a full boot still takes place even with the leds unplugged, GL with it though.

Hi Tony, and thanks a lot,
LG have been famed for years for ball-gate arrays that can often be sorted using a domestic oven. Doesn't work with any other make though - Tried it.
Generally the set comes on displaying 'Life's Good' but otherwise dead as a door-nail.
This one had me foxed, as merely flashed it's S/by led at me, hence the note on Quuq as unsure. Seems OK after cooking, but never can tell.
