HI fella's have this dvd/recorder it's a panny dmr-ex77eb-k distored sound, on inspection found 2 swollen caps on the mainboard change them, but hasn't cured the fault i think it might be faulty audio ic , thnks

Hi Shaun,

There are also 2 caps under the digital board and I behind it that sometimes bulge too, but more likely to be the AV switching IC (IC3001 from memory) under the main board. Replacement of this IC is not an option - about 400 pins. I've always changed the board itself. Anyhow, good luck.

try its self test mode to reset back to out of box condition before replaceing any parts
might be all it needs,or replace its firmware which is on pana sight

Replace 100 pin SMD IC (LV7107) on underside of the main board.
