Title: Sony KDL-40S2010
Post by: Davy on January 01, 2022,08:19:31
Works fine then suddenly switches off... no flashing light, this could happen anytime, it could be alright for up to two weeks...switch on and then it's fine for goodness knows how long.

Yes I've got the Sync setting to off and Power setting to off.... so where to start? Has any one ever come across this and is the fault registered in the service settings? I've not looked in there yet?

Happy New Year everyone, stay safe.

Dave

If you access the epg guide and it goes off and turns back on again it's the FEE board (the digital tuner board). I had a 46inch version of the same range of chassis that was doing this and would always go off when the epg guide was accessed like clockwork.
I suggest you read carefully the post here:

Ensure you read about the memory stick used as it's critical it getting it to work.
Any fee board can be used if yours cannot be rectified with firmware upgrade. As I recall only one file was used from Jordan who provided it for me.
 Good luck :)

Thanks for that..... I'll give the EPG a try out.

When it trips it takes the standby light as well, switch back on and 'it's good to go' for goodness knows how long, it just does it as if it wants. It's not tripped for me yet.  All good fun, cheers and Happy New Year.
