Title: Bush BTV19sil (Orion)
Post by: Turnip on March 15, 2010,07:16:12
Hi folks,

Have one of these that functions perfectly apart from SCART input, where OSG can indicate AV but screen is otherwise blank with no sound. With a DVD plugged in, auto select to AV doesn't.

Any thoughts - Chris.

Hi Chris,

I had a similar fault on a Matsui that im pretty sure are the same as the Bush, and it turned out to be a eprom fault, I think the clue is the fact it doesnt switch over to AV automatically which will be controlled by the main micro. You would probably have to change the eprom to know for sure.

Hope this is of some help

Brian

Thanks Brian,

Had a sort'a feeling that the EEPROM might be prime suspect. Checked ChasHyde for replacement, plus a fiver for the soldering job, change from £20.

Customer feels that the next boot sale might provide a working one for a couple of quid.

Suspect that old stuff ain't worth the bother - well at least I have a bus pass - sadly, in the wilds of Norfolk, no busses pass  -  Chris, the cyclist - well, fends off heart attacks.

PS - shocked to find cust later wanted job done - raised price to £25 as EEPROM with extras like post and packaging (for a SMD pinhead device) brought it to £12.50

Will recycle packaging should I find any - Chris.
