Title: Sony HCD-DZ660 DVD recorder
Post by: yellowpinky on September 03, 2010,03:35:59
Hello Group,
This unit is dead after a power cut in the area.
It has FR929 (1ohm half watt) o/c in the power supply.
C/Hyde list it at £17.60.
I have fitted a standard safety resistor and it blows again.
Has anyone a circuit for it.
Many thanks Ian Harrison (Sound and Vision)

Hi Ian
Got to chuckle at Sony spares prices! Heres a link to where you can find the service manual.
http://elektrotanya.com/

Best of luck
John.

Hello John,
Thanks for the link.
It is listed but I do not seem to be able to downloading it.
The customer has decided to put a claim in.
Several other electrical items failed in the surrounding area.
Best regards Ian.

Thanks to Contrast John for downloading the manual and sending it to me.
The customer collected the set so no cure.
I suspect the switching IC (MR4020-7103) caused FR 929 to blow.
Thanks all.
Regards Ian.
