Title: Sony Trinitron KV-32v25 dead
Post by: pakikihead on June 24, 2007,01:53:17
Hi, I'm new here.

I've been searching the net for a good couple of weeks now for advice on repairing this TV.  I removed the G power supply board and replaced both Q601 and Q602 components, I'm guessing that it's some sort of regulators.  I also replaced the R607 fuse.  When I plugged the TV in the fuse immediately burned.

I removed the G board and tried jumpering the fuse legs with alligator clips.  I plugged the board in a plug strip with a switch switched off.  When I turned the switch on for a second the Q601 component produced an arc  to the heat sink.  Blew a crack right through the Q601 component - whoaaa!

I removed some of the capacitors and started checking them which seemed to be okay.

Any suggestions on what component could be bad?  Also would a G board from a 27 inch model work with this TV?  The ID numbers on the board are 171156531 and 1-659-752-31.

Thanks.
