first thing i checked was the fuse which is ok and that is what i cant understand why the fuse is ok when the power supply ic has gone i would have thought it would have blown the fuse even though the fuse is ok and the switch and power cable is ok the set is completly dead no standby or anything this is why i wondered about this va part as something seems to be stopping the power getting to the ic.the capacitor in the power supply gets no charge either any info appreciated

If you do not have 320v on capacitor
Check R602 (3.9oM) if he have (open circuit)
Replaced power supply ic TN6Q04 and D615 Zener (18v)

And i had same problem before(no st-by no nothing)
it`s was 3.3v from IC666 to microprocesor i found C201(220n was short circuit)

r602 reads ok this is what i cant understand that is the only thing i can find gone in the power supply is the opto for sure, the tn6q04 ic i am not sure about but with nothing else being bad in the power supply makes me wonder if it has gone or not the only thing that made me thinck it has gone is because the two outside legs on the ic read straight across on my ohmmeter but without any specs on this ic i dont know if that is normal or not, anyway i have found c201 and will check that out.thanks for your info sorry about badgering on about this tv but i hate being beaten by it

Check resistors R606,R607 if Ok check all resistors
About IC shouldn't read straight across.
And you have 320v on C609 (400v270Mkf) capacitor?

checked the resistors all ok now you confirm that the ic is reading wrong i have put one on order and hopefully after fitting that and another opto it works without blowing them.one more thing though their are two optos in it one on the power supply the other on the ht but both the same they have both got p421f on them does the replacement opto have to have the same on it as i have some optos but not that one but the one i have in mind reads exactly the same as the good opto on the ht so should that be suitable to go in the power supply,i know i should get a new one but its like getting blood out of stone to get shops to order the home engeneer things here.thanks again for your help

No different bitween just should be 4 pin opto (from any power supply).
And check D615(18v zener) before replace IC.
