hi guys,
blew my beloved avo 8 up today,on an old fergy tx91, if anyone is still using one and wouldn’t mind taking the back off and checking a value of a resistor that’s burnt out, I would be grateful,
I know she’s old, but less jumpy than those new fangled digital multimeters,
thanks

Hi daz
Found a circuit and parts list for an AVO 8 mk6. Unfortunately no component layout but may be of some use.
Regards
John.

thanks john
mine is a mark 5 but they look very similar, will get some time on it this week with any luck, not liking the smell coming from the transformer, seems ominous
thanks again

Hi Daz,
Thought you far too young for a real AVO, all analogue and that - got my last one from a chap who needed a mend on a 30 second actuating pendulum office clock.
One needs to be old - even much older than Sparky - Chris.
PS - killed my first one with a microwave supply check

Hi Chris
They say the old ones are the best, trying to get a colleague to part with his avo but he seems reluctant, back to using the new fangled multimeter I guess.
Ps. is this web site running really slow at the moment? Or is it just me?

Hi Daz,
Just seen your last through the helpful ads, but at least Quuq doesn't get Viagra spam, only pointy shoes - Guess Quuq is seen as a muscular 8 pack type site, but with terrific empathy - Chris
