Title: Sony lap-top runing XP
Post by: Turnip on June 17, 2012,13:02:07
Hi Folks,

Realise software probs are infra-dig, but have this lap-top where someone restricted 'C' to 10GB and additional sector 'D' is rather large with nothing in it.
Deleted 'D' but can't seem to extend 'C' to used deleted 'D' disc space - any thoughts - Chris.

you need to creat a partition in the part you call d when you have done that use the same partition software to extend C: :13:

Hi Tellyman,

Great - couldn't understand that at all, but new in sector problems. If it wasn't a Sony would just blank HD and reload with me XP disc, then toss in the saved drivers.

But cust wants the intital Sony crap as she's used to it and thinks it useful.

No reasoning at all with paying folks - Chris.

Hi Astracat,

Thanks but cust took it to local shop who blanked disc and re-loaded with basic XP losing all that Sony extras rubbish stuff I thought she wanted - so it goes.

Many thanks anyway.

Incidentally it was the same shop that squashed her 'C' to 10Gb and provided a ludicrous 40Gb empty 'D' section for some reason - possibly future business - Thanks again - Chris.
