Title: Manual uploading
Post by: Turnip on July 21, 2012,08:12:12
Hi folks,

Trying to upload a Philips LCD manual in PDFlite some 30mb in size, this site will not accept due to wrong format.

Any thoughts ?  - Chris.

PS - After erasing PDF lite, as you do -the manual showed as a straight PDF - still not up-loadable

Hi chris,

The file is too big for this site, I think the maximum is 15MB.

Hi Keith,

Original uploader tried splitting into reduced small sections also tried encoding, but no way would Quuq accept this manual, giving the useful notice of 'wrong format'

Mention as the chap feels he has trouble with PS, and as he couldn't upload, thought I might have ideas as a Quuq 'Hero'. Never met the PS before, so tried uploading, as he did - Zilch - Chris

Morning Chris,

If your file is too big you still get the message of wrong format. If you zip it or rar it you will still have a file that is too big. If you split the file using freeware zip or rar you will end up with 20 files 1.44MB so too many files to upload.
I would usually email the file direct or upload to a file hosting site and put a link here.
Simples!

Try uploading a file less than 15MB as a test.

Hi Keith and thanks,

If a large manual can't be uploaded to a site that deals in service and manuals, perhaps some small site adjustment might be appropriate to facilitate.

Do I note some 'Meercat' influence, never heard it when Attenborough was filming  - Chris.
