Well let's hope this time goes better than the last, Firstly thanks guys for all the friendly help & advice last time I tried to return to the trade it was much appreciated. Can't believe it's been over a year again. Just after my last post on the Forum I knocked my arm on a concrete gate post, this was the arm that originally put me out of work the 1st time. It was only a slight knock as I thought, but turns out no it did some damage. It's kept me out of work mostly until now & even off the PC. I'm still not supposed to be back, but can't keep sitting on my butt doing nothing so for better or worse I'm back.

hi, thought i hadnt seen you on for a while, did you see it as leaving the trade though? i had two heart valves fitted nov last year and continued to look on the sites, and people said at work they were pleased to see me back. but do we ever truly leave?
a bit deep perhaps but i think if yourre born with it it stays with you, in spite of natures way saying otherwise, hope yourre back up and fighting soon,

Hi Tony: Cheers for the reply & hope your beginning to feel better. I know from my brother in laws experience of the same thing, it can take an awful long time to really get over that sort of surgery. Are you back doing repairs now ?
For quite a while it did feel like I'd left the trade, I couldn't even sit at the computer to browse the Internet or the different forums. I still don't sit at the PC for long periods but some is better than none :thumbup:, We're just in the process of moving house so it will be a couple of weeks before I'm able to be at the bench full time but I'll get there.
Your right about the trade never really leaving some people, a friend of mine sidestepped into Industrial Electronics for a few years but ended up coming back to the trade.

Glad to hear it mate, South Wales seems to be in even more of a recession than the rest of the country. I went over to Neath the other day to see some friends & there's another TV shop closed down, they'd been going for more years than I can remember but finally had to shut the doors. Do you repair anything other than TV ?
