Title: Yamaha RX-V596RDS
Post by: Turnip on August 07, 2014,12:35:32
Hi folks,

Had one of these in where power would cut straight away.

Checked transformer and diode bridges and found OK. Found one pair of 5 x 2SA1695 and 2SC4468 S/C.

Replaced without removing the board, as most sub panels are hard wired, and time can be money.

Thanks to local 'LD' folks for best chip prices - Chris.

Hi Turps,

Are you referring to the output transistors? I have a 630 doing same but outputs are OK and I'm running out of ideas. Audio has never really been my bag. I loathe and detest it.

Bruce.

Hi Bruce,

Guess you're pulling my Witchetty Nuts - as ever.

Mine was a 5 channel tuner amp, where power cut at switch on, and checking output transistors found two S/C.

Doddle - maybe.

Note you didn't mention what the problem actually is, apart from detestation - typical for Quuqers - Chris.

Chris, you're making my mouth water.....witchery grubs barbequed in Vegemite......yum.
Problem has been solved now. Must be my whimsicality coming out again. Guess we know what the punters want. We know what they have......short arms and long pockets. My thought for the day.

Hi Bruce,

You're right as ever - folks don't want to spend their cash - just yours trying sort their problem.

Must try that vegemite stuff if it sorts issues.

Gather we have such stuff here that sorts nothing - either you like it or you don't, as they say -

Go for such stuff myself daily on my crumpet, then my two muffins are then loaded with butter and blue cheese.

Just a serving/surviving suggestion - Chris.

Hi Chris,

I'd stick with the turnip wine (turps), full of vitamin-C.

The Bruce theorem states that butter + blue cheese = fat + penicillin = a slow agonising death.

On the other hand, healthy diet = depleted bank balance = debtor's prison.

Catch 22.....stick with your tacky tucker, Turnip. Must confess, not a highly technical issue.

Hi Bruce,

Well said.

Enjoy Muffins with Blue cheese most mornings, so should have expired years ago from something horrid.

Otherwise Dickens, as you suggest, in debtor's prison.

Gather our man was eventually released when a chap thought his daughter the biz, though dad was a total fart.

Dickens fer me - Chris.
