Title: Toshiba D-R180TKTB - Tuning issues.
Post by: Turnip on October 06, 2015,11:53:40
Hi folks,

Had one in for a P/S pop where a secondary Shottky diode going S/C maybe caused the primary to up the anti and go pop trying to keep voltages normal.

Anyway - P/S fixed but now have a DVB tuning/memory problem. Normally with a Toshiba DVD recorder, after a scan it suggests pressing OK to store - This one doesn't, it just sits there, and when power is switched off then restored it admits no channels stored.

Thought as 'factory reset' is in the menu, to try it - Normally would expect the screen to go blank and initial set up to start - It doesn't do a thing.

Wonder if there's any sort of S/menu code that might help - Thanks - Chris.

Hi Chris,

Can't find that model anywhere, is it 18D not 180?

But it sounds like possible firmware problem,  if it's D-R18DT unfortunately Toshiba don't seem to support that model now.

Thanks Keith and Jordan, Mis-read the model number - Old age maybe.

Thanks for the info, will have a look. Discovered if I do a scan then leave the machine 'till it gets bored with a screen saver display, then press OK, it stores the channels when switched on again.

Bit odd - work in progress - Chris.
