Title: Leak Stereo 20.
Post by: Turnip on October 08, 2015,12:29:21
Hi folks,

Had one in to mend, and although I hate valve stuff have to admit this one seemed rather good.

Most interesting bit is the 100 Ohm WW resistor, where if output valve current gets too high, it unsolders itself and falls off before the mains transformer dies - Nifty in days before thermal fuses.

Usual problems are all the caps as were 60s rubbish. Resistors, even the high value ones seem reliable in low voltage positions.

I only had to replace one ECC83 and all input/output connectors for Gold plated stuff to keep the quality up to spec. as all caps previously replaced - Attach shematic - Chris.

Hi Chris,

Have had the odd Leak over here. Relatively simple design but works well. Don't mind the old valve gear, cut my teeth on them.

Hi Bruce,

Thought you'd like it, it's the most tidy valve amp I've yet met, well laid out and straightforward to repair.

Suspected 10 watts per channel a bit feeble, but on this one 20 watts is 20 watts true RMS, not peak/whatnot, where you have to divide by something to get an idea how bad it is.

Think a picture - true 'Gold Glory' - Chris.
