Hi Al, seems like it's just you and me on this forum. Have read about this on Bad Caps - was suggested that it's a firmware fault. Do you have access to an upgrade? Happy Easter, Bruce.

Hi all,have this58"Hitachi Fault no picture backlights are on.Have seen this a lot recently on vestel badged sets usually only around 2 years old.It appears to be a screen issue ,however on this one i m not sure,when i disconnect one of the flexi connections from the screen i get half of picture,then w hen i reconnect the flexi and power up tv it works perfectly until i power off by removing mains plug.When tv is powered up again the fault is back,nothing on the screen backlights on.Have tried doing a factory reset but no better.Any suggestions very welcome.Thanks Al

Hi Al, and all the best for the new year.  Have you considered it might be the display panel? Try disconnecting separately each T-con flexie lead to
the panel. If one lead off gives you half a picture or white screen, but the other lead results in a black screen, then the panel is toast. This is mere speculation of course, but at no previous time have I come across so many duff panels.

Hi all .Best wishes for2023,have a Hisense H49n5700 it keeps cutting off sometimes after a few mins and other times after  much longer.Have replaced the main board but fault still there,also took it apart to check the led strips and re wired the edge connectors on the led strips but still no better.Have run out of ideas so any suggestions very welcome.Thanks Al

Toshiba 43U5863 had the same problem. I scraped connections and even soldered over them but no difference so had to rewire. Read about 15 ohms. 3 leds away so had to replace strips as well.
