Hi Folks,

Had this nice bit of gear in for 'No sound' but display functioned. There were two secondary rectifier bridges, and the supply fuse(3.15A) for the main amp had blown, and there was a smell of mild combustion.

Wilts provided the cheapest TA8216H chips, but after fitting one thought to check supply for shorts - discovered most all of the very small 22nf ceramic disc caps across bridge diodes were shot.

Hurried to Ebay to get bargains - no dice. Guess with current Conservative Non 'free' tip and non-recycling policies they are all dumped landfill - pity, might have made the needy pound - Chris

Confess - local tip/recycling centre has been closed, and now occupied by Travelling/but obviously non-moving folks, till (Our)Tory borrowed Millions are expended - bit silly, but am still Curious - guess some chap, will have an answer.
