NEC NLT-40HDB2 Locked out?
« on: February 25, 2012,20:17:02 »
I've been playing with it most of the morning, and I've come to the conclusion the TV is in some sort of hotel/ lock mode.

TV powers up fine, and I can watch Digital TV fine.

BUT

1) I can't access the install menu to retune
2) The side buttons don't work (volume/ change input/ channels)
The guy said one of his kids had sat on the remote, and thats when it started to act this way.

I've opened, and couldn't find and blown/ bulging caps.

Any ideas?

nb: Have left it unplugged for about a week to hope it would hard reset, but no luck.

Sounds like 'childlock' but youd need the remote to access menu to remove

I've got the remote, child lock is turned off and still nothing.
Have tried jumping the buttons aswell and nothing.
