Bosch Rotak 43L1 - Lithium powered lawnmower.

Hi folks,

Had one in where the battery charger didn't work. Guess it had been dropped as the 2.5A power fuse had popped and there was a break on the mains input side of the PCB. Still didn't go as the 180k start up resistor was O/C. Batteries then charged with flashing leds, then cut when topped up.

Cust back two days later as the lawn mower wouldn't go. Discovered, as well as the handle on/off switch there was an long orange thing in the battery compartment, which could be pulled to switch off. Dismantled and discovered a 'Maxi' 40Amp fuse which had blown for some reason - Off to the 'Flea' for replacements.

Hope overload, not a duff motor, as they aren't so cheap - Chris.

Later, fuses arrived. Fitted one and it popped silently - Have a sinking feeling. Will tear the mower apart tomorrow, but suspect motor as what else at 36 volts could be a problem ?

At least the charger and batteries are OK - Cust not well impressed so far. Took it apart to find the motor appeared to have S/C areas on the commutator. Not very impressed as machine uses updraft from blade to cool the motor, so the whole motor area was stuffed full of dried grass. Motor and drive assy sealed - tried prising it apart with hammer and screwdriver to check armature - but no luck - Motor cheap at £220.00
