Food mixer JH-350A-5L-1 - Speed problem.
« on: August 26, 2015,10:20:35 »
Hi folks,

Have one in - Bearing no Maker's name, but the model number took me to China - Not too helpful, unless I want to buy a thousand.

Machine has a switched speed control at the rear, where Off is off, but in all other positions mixer runs at full speed.

Noticed a motor 'Hall effect' sensor, and a panel with a small chip, Ceramic resonator, switch and Triac.

Checked everything checkable, then resoldered them - No better. Had a feeling that no feedback from the sensor might mean top speed, but not at all sure - Was going to order the drive chip but it has no markings whatever - Unhelpful.

Any thoughts ? - Could keep 'She who must be obeyed' in obeyance - Chris.

Later - Thought to unsolder the 'Hall' sensor, and a leg fell off - probably motor vibration as leads were formed into a sort of spring to get optimum proximity to the ring magnet. Resoldered to check - OK, but a bag of 10 from China for a couple of quid inc. post for the next time.
