Hitachi L42N30A service manual.

(1/1)

Client brought this unit over from the UK and says there is no "Country" selection in the menu. Would like to know if this is made specifically for the UK market. Service manual or user manual might be handy, otherwise he's screwed.

Typically people are told that as Australia also uses the PAL system, their TVs will work fine over here. Wrong! Any advice appreciated.

Hi Bruce,

Guess it's your first Vestel without a tube, as Hitachi seem to have used nothing else, and have never bothered try make non tube sets - Even Hitachi plasma was Vestel.

Note that on install, Vestel initially suggests language options before moving on to region, area and whatnot, but as you've said that Vestel doesn't export your way, there might be issues, though can't see why - Chris.

PS - Note that buying DVDs from the US, folks are reminded that discs are recorded in NTSC rather than area codes being the issue.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your thoughts. Nay, Hitachi in Oceania don't use Vestel, they are rebrands now of cheap Chinese TVs that are marketed under a variety of brand names, only the software being different to flummox us so we cant interchange boards.

Found a review of Hitachi in question that says it's a multi-system TV that can be used anywhere on this planet. Customer didn't bring the TV in, hoping he could sort it himself. He might need our magic fingers though.

Bruce
