Samsung UE32f5500ak faulty Sharp T-con board.
« on: May 12, 2016,09:52:24 »
Hi,I've got the above model Samsung, fitted with a Sharp T-con board, blank screen, back lights ok.Good signals if scarted out.
T-con is RUNTK5351TP0055FV.I've had a few of these in 40" sets & replaced with new from CHS ltd,but they are exspensive at around £52,also not cheap from e-bay.Does anyone know,is there a common failure with this board? Can they be repaired.I can only see one fuse & that's o.k.Many thanks John.

The T-Con for the 40 inch of this model suffered from faulty IC200. Do they use similar T-Con on the 32 inch model.

I had a do with a Samsung that was cycling off and on.
I change the Eprom reprogrammed it now I could switch it off and on but it still did it's recycling but with a distorted picture..... having read that Samsungs can do this with a faulty Tcon or it's leads, so I cast evil eyes on the Tcon. I removed the board and for some reason made a bee line for a diode near it's ribbon cable, it checked leaky, looking at the marking 'CCD KE' I deduced it was a 5V zener, I wired a standard 5V Zener in and lo and behold was rewarded with a super picture.

Maybe before condemning the chip you might check all the diodes you can see, it paid off for me.

The funny thing that confuses me was the power cycling would slow allowing the screen to come up if I disconnected the speakers - I just can't get my head around that one.  To keep things orderly I nicked a SMD zener with the same marking from another Tcon.

Fitted new T-con from CHS set worked fine afterwards.I had a measure around diodes, but couldn't really find anything obvious. The sales guy tells me they supply loads of the Sharp T- conns. Thanks again for your inputs.
