This set uses a 17IPS01-2 inverter/power supply board.
The set would come on and the backlight would flash breifly.... Oh, dear t'is the backlights.... so I ordered and fitted two new candles..... well I mean they did appear much dimmer in the middle when used on a external inverter.
Don't go for the backlights as I did.... change the 2, 12pF 3Kv capacitors and their mate a 4.7P 3KV.

The backlights size in this model is 2.5mm dia x 314mm long...... you can use 2mm x 314mm ones equally well.
Another £ shop telly saved.... bog standard 85 deg.C leccylytics in this one.
I'm still 'iffy' about the two candles I took out because other backlights tested far brighter on my 'test' inverter. Maybe I had two faults, as the tube ages the end voltage would increase as the tube current decreases causing the caps to fail.... does that sound right?
Be wise to check em' both in cases like this.
