HELP NEEDED. 19" TV'S ALL WITH SAME FAULT
« on: June 20, 2008,17:21:07 »
Hello Everyone,
I could really do with some help.  I now have 6 x 19" lcd tv's all with the same ish problem.  4 branded STRATO, 1 Technosonic 1908 and 1 samsung.  All of them look the same externally, internally there is 2 versions of the same mainboard.  All of them just flash the red stanby light?  I have already posted about this fault on the technosonic 1908, but i still can't fix them.  Thanks to TvTony and Taloola i have replaced the 3 leg diodes V20100SG and checked all the resistors I can, but still no joy.  So I'm asking for help (any help).  Before I decide to see how far i can chuck 6 tv's off the tyne bridge.  cheers

check r105 and r121, each around 220k and r121 5.6ohm. all on primary side of psu, vey common offenders, you do like your obscure sets dont you, take care

Hi Tony, Thanks for the help mate, but still no joy.  The older tv's have the same resistors you described (105 and 121), but i have checked them all and they all seem okay? The newer "strato" tv's have a simular mainboard but slightly different.  I have check all resistors and all look okay?
Everyone of the tvs (now 7 tv's!!) has one of the two V20100SG 3 legged diodes faulty.  Could it be the transformer?

Any help as usual would be much appriciated.

Looks like there going in the tyne.
Thanks

just a thought mark,
they are schottky diodes, very low forward voltage drop, u are aware of that i hope. the ones on the heat sink,
1 feeds the 12 v the other the 5v.
still searching for manual for you though

Hi

There is a problem with most mid size BUSH power boards that sounds exactly like your problem. I know your TVs are not made by Bush but the flashing red power light with no other sign of life sounds exact.

I found that to fix the bush, you had to replace 1 capacitor next to the connector that goes to the graphics board (not the inverter). The cap is normally slightly beveled on the top. This info might help you, hope it will.
