Yeah... sorted!
Got a LED converter kit from iCCFL.com. This consisted of 2x 96 led strips and a inverter for about £18, the inverter was so small I thought it was a joke. The LEDs was connected in groups of three.
The only problem I had, well two but I don't wanna be telling! The strips was a wee bit too long, all I had to do was to snip two leds of each strip. Switch on, and we had backlights! I used Impact formally Evostick to secure the strips.
One good thing is the supply plug to the inverter matched the original one, no mod required here.
Now the other problem...... some clown but the strips in so the wires was at the wrong end, meaning the screen was upside down.... so what to do? Simple, turn the screen round so the piccy is the right way up, the inverter was mounted on the other side of the board, with the original wiring loom.
A darn sight better and a little cheaper than ordering 4x 2mm CCFL's and bursting em' in the fitting process.
As for the brightness I couldn't tell the difference, the picture did look a little more crisper to me, certainly no problems with shading or shadowing.
