Gonzini:
Hi Bruce
Thanks for having a look, whats this oceana website you speak of?
I did find the service docs on the web some time back.
The reset you suggest, do you think that's the same thing as i had already done? Looked like a full factory reset as it asked me for all the first time details (which i skipped..!)
Cheers

Oceana refers to the Pacific area. This includes Australia, NZ, SE Asia. Don't know about your reset - did you go through it to 999?

Still haven't been able to upload the service manual - something wrong at quuq end, I suspect.                             Bruce

Gonzini:
I see.
I did find a public Panasonic ftp site, ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/pub/Panasonic/call_center/firmware/
Nothing of use there for me.
The reset i did was V/- & i on the remote.
It brings up a self test screen and after power cycling initiates a factory reset.
I didn't have to input any numbers other than resetting the pin to 0000.
I tried your way of holding Vol + & - but all its does is keep scrolling.
Will have a look through the service data for the factory reset, the i found out was on a forum somewhere. Can't find it now!
Managed to upload the service data from here yesterday, i didn't quite get how the upload works out so its outside the Panasonic folder.
Cheers

panasonic chassis LH64

Gonzini:
Thanks Jordan, I had uploaded the service data for the TX-26/32 LXD70 the other day.
Well hopefully good news, I've managed to find the firmware update which covers a number of chassis.
Version EU_HD_UK_LGSAM-v5640.SEC seems to be the cure, have to see how it works out.
I had a feeling by what it was doing it was related to the backlight tube(s)
Found it on avforums.com, a thread talking actually about this issue with the uneven mercury distribution in the tube over time making it hard to start.
I had almost given up looking, then found it  :yahoo:
Will upload to the files section, I'm sure I'm not alone. Its still a great TV for my use. I use it mainly with a Humax 1100 Freesat box with HDMI.
Cheers for your help, it did motivate to keep looking :)
