Won't say I mend such stuff every day, but have sorted several - They're a bit like 60s autochangers, where grease congeals, and the speed controller weights get stuck on the shaft giving speeds near CD where the needle can't quite read the disc.
Usual problem is that the spring breaks, note Ebay has quite a few if you care take your life into your hands, as removing the spring can be lethal, taking no prisoners.
Not many clock repairers about today since the Xtal did the biz. Just thought mention in case someone had one kicking about, never know, will keep checking Ebay, as worth a pound running at the right speed, but nothing if it doesn't.
Amusingly, some folks think I might shuffle in an electric motor, but such machines didn't have a plug, just a handle - Chris.
