Thanks Bruce,

Duff MBs (SSBs) have become quite an issue with Sony sets in the last few years, and of course no useful panels on Ebay, ever.

Getting to be the same with Panasonic too. At least with an LG you can try cook 'em. Getting to be a Samsung fan as its nice to

be able to fix something at times. Favourite is any set using LG screen Leds - Chris.

Thanks Zom,

Good thought, will check.

Tried with a firm recommended by Sony for service spares, but seems they only do RCU and mains leads, and they're ridiculously expensive. Sony do however mention 3 accredited service agents in the Norwich area, but suspect if it isn't under guarantee £200+ would be reasonable for a SSB replacement. Thanks again - Chris.

PS - Its a thought that if its edge-lit there won't be so many screen smashes, as takes a good sized brick, where back-lit need just a touch from a two year old in a paddy.

In the event, folks couldn't be arsed to check any Guarantee as its Crimble, so bought another. Nice set though, think hang on to it 'till can sort a SSB on Ebay or get another one in with screen issues.
