Try this

While pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button of the main unit, press [INFO] button of the remote control three times within 2 seconds

Hi,
I think you will find to access the service mode you will need to hold down volume down button on the set and at the same time press 0 button on remote three times within 2 secs - but be careful you shouldnt really need to go in there. I have never needed to adjust anything in the service mode before.

I think BC109 is refering to re-initialization of the set - you hold down volume down on set and then press I on the remote, you will then see "self check" appear on the sceen, switch the set off at the mains switch and back on again, and you will find it will start up like when you first unboxed it

That was from the manual for a TH-42PZ85U chassis GPF11DU.
So not sure if the same. Here are some pages from manual, may help.

The set is a GPF11DE chassis but Blib, I think the giant chicken has the best advice unless you're an engineer.

Why do you want to go into service mode? It it "streaking" on the picture?
