37" Evesham LCD TV faulty power supply
« on: January 18, 2009,05:30:11 »
Hi, can anyone help.
:wallbash:
I have a 37” Evesham LCD which has stopped working.  A local TV repair engineer has identified that the power supply circuit board has a fault but he and I have no idea where to get a replacement.

Evesham are no longer trading and the company that took over the warranties (“totalcaresupport.com”) will not give any assistance unless I join their club and pay them a minimum of £12.99 a month, on top of paying for the repair.

We guess Evesham just put it’s name on a TV manufactured abroad but we have no idea who manufactured it.  The model number is AV370W. (possibly Atec - cant find much on them either)

Does anyone know who made these TV’s for Evesham & in which country?
Where we could obtain spares?
Or is there anyone out there that could repair the faulty board?

Thanking you in advance for any assistance.
Smifffy

*************** SUCCESS    SUCCESS    SUCCESS    SUCCESS    SUCCESS    SUCCESS    SUCCESS ***************

TV is up and running and the Mrs is happy once again. yippee.....

Thanks again TV TONY for all your efforts, you were the only helpful reply I had from many hours of research and requests for information from various websites and forums.  Thank god for the internet else the TV would of been destined for the skip and I would of needed to spend a whole lot more money!!

If we lived closer I'd take you out for a pint (or two). :brinda:

Anyone else out there who needs help with their LCD TV - if TV TONY offers you a fix dont be sceptical, he knows his stuff and the price he charged me for his time and expertise was very reasonable.

I may have the same Tv with defect power supply(ATEC AV370W), there is a burned resistor R306, this is connected to a transistor?(Q301, GAT 515  think it is labeled). Haven't got my multimeter here.

Kent,

Did you have any luck with fixing it? I am also in Norway and my ATEC AV370W died yesterday. Funny smell and buzzing noise, then both the screen and the power indicator went black. No response when I switch it on/off, so I guess it could be the power supply with this one too.

Hi,

I have the same problem with 2 of these TVs (yes, was stupid enough to buy 2) and was wondering if anyone could help.

The tv comes on for a bit, then turns off with a orange standby light and the PSU starts squeeling. Sometimes it doesn't turn off but just stops responding. I've checked over the capacitors on the PSU and none are bulging or have any brown crud underneath. I guess its the same problem as the guy in the first post.

I notice TV Tony knows how to fix these and was wondering if he still repairs these, or would post instructions on how to sort it out :)

Many thanks

Hi All,

First post here after searching everywhere for a fix for my AV370D Atec LCD - so be gentle please

Anyway I have the same problem - power supply PCB.

It has been with 2 repair companies in Nottingham and they cannot find the parts to replace. I have even sent an email to atec.co.kr!

Could Tony please contact me to discuss please?

Many thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Have followed this with interest. Don't think that anyone has noted the model number of power supply fitted, or supplied a pic.

  Would be grateful - Chris.
