Faulty plasma panel? (small video inside)
« on: July 22, 2009,03:31:57 »
Hello,

Video

Samsung PS-42E7S, screen keeps flashing (dark in the mildle) with good sound.
Can this be a problem on the "plasma panel"?

I hear a sound click click click on the "Y Drive" board when the screen is flashing. If i disconect the panel from the "Y buffer" the noise continues but if i disconect the "Y buffer" from the "Y drive" the click click click stops.

Tested the Power board and its fine.
Can the problem be on the Y boards or am i wasting time because its a bad "plasma panel"?

Thanks a lot

Hi,
It certainly looks like your Y buffer board is faulty, but if you change the Y buffer board then there is always the chance that the PDP panel has caused the Buffer board to fail.
Im afraid it is a case of fitting a new buffer board and crossing your fingers!
Good Luck

hello,

Thats what i am afraid of, the PDP does not look pretty flashing with that dark stain on the center and other on one side.
Is it possible for the panel to damage the buffer board or even the board damage the panel?

Thanks
bye bye

Hi,

Yes it is indeed possible that the Panel (PDP) has damaged the buffer board and you would have to try a new buffer board to find out.
I have never known a buffer board damage a PDP

Hope this helps
