Self-diagnostic function for components other than the panel
Display Method
When the self-diagnostics mode call mode launches, the failure history is loaded from memory and diagnostic information is displayed on the screen (OSD) along with blinking LED indications. A self-check is also made and the result displayed.
(1) OSD error code numbers and self-check display
- The failure history and the self-check result are displayed as shown in the screen shot below.
- Up to five of the latest error codes are displayed in the failure history. When more errors occur, the older error codes are cleared.
- Either "OK" or "NO" is displayed as a result of the self-check.
- (If a video board is not available, "----" is displayed in place of H31, H32, H34, H35 and H36).

Panel Self-Diagnostic Function
If failures or faults occur in the PDP panel module, causing the screen to black out, self-diagnostics can be launched to determine where in the module the faults occurred. A blinking LED count indicates the fault location.
(1) Launch self-diagnostics
Follow these steps:
(a) Turn on the main power and turn off the sub-power.
(b) Turn on the sub-power while holding down INPUT SELECT. Continue pressing the sub-power for at least 5 seconds.
(2) Status while self-diagnostics is in progress
- As long as no errors are present, eight-color monochromatic displays iterate, with the green LED glowing (whether input signals are present or absent).
- Once an error occurs, the screen blacks out with the red LED blinking.
(3) Blinking LED indications on error (blinking in red)
- The latest error code occurring is indicated by an LED blink count as described in Table 11.2.1.
- The red LED blinks in 1 second cycles as shown in the chart below.
(4) Exit self-diagnostics
Turn off the main power or the sub-power.
