« on: October 11, 2009,06:53:10 »
Hi Folks,

Have one of these where backlight is constant but picture fades in and out - sound OK. Have cleaned the LVDS lead - but no better.        17PW20 and 17MB22-2

  Any ideas ?      Chris.

Hi, and thanks Mulja,

Screen is Chi-Mei V320B1-L04  Drive panel V320B1-C04  Picture quality appears poor in definition compared with many others.

Not Samsung, but the numbers are similar. Thought to take off the drive board screen - tapping the board provoked the fault, wonder if anyone does a reflow ?

  Thanks again - Chris.

Hi Folks,

Re-flowed solder on a couple of large chips on screen drive panel, and apart from an initial short as I couldn't quite see the pins clearly - all seems well.

Any thoughts on an improved eyeglass ?  - Chris.

Hi Folks,

Must confess that after a few days the picture flickered dark just before customer was to call to collect. He was so impressed by Quuq 'Vestel' relevations that he left a tenner for my pension funds.

Who says we never win ?  - Chris.

P.S. Note that CPS does a USB microscopic viewer - anyone tried one, and also, how to align one's sight and iron with the pics ?
