Acoustic solutions LCD32805HD fault
« on: October 24, 2009,12:10:31 »
Hey guys.

I was watching my tv last night when it suddenly blacked out to standby. I tried to turn it back on using remote and power button on the tv itself but the blue standby light simply flashes once and that'll be it.
I even left the power supply unplugged for the night to see if it would work this morning but again no luck.

If anyone has any solutions or advise on how to repair this i would be very grateful.

Make:Acoustic Solutions
Model number: LCD32805HD

Many thanks.

Hi Folks,

Note that this set has Vestel 17PW20.1 and know of serious PFC pops. Could single flash indicate invertor short perhaps ?

  Curious - Chris.

Hello saint
I think chris is right they do use a vestel 17pw20.1 or v2, I have attached a map so you can check the voltages as the psu is more than likely causing the fault. these power supplies are made by satan himself and suffer an endless list of faults from causing an int inverter, int standby, stuck in standby, standby light just dimming, exploding for no apparent reason , and so on….
If this is you fault and your not experienced with electronics I would just replace the psu there not expensive.
hope this helps

Hi Daz,

Am meeting quite a few of these, so any futher information on 'Satan's spawn' (not Profilo - this time) could be useful to quite a lot of us.

Hope you might find time - Chris.

No problem Chris
Here are the faults ive remembered to write down,
Allot of these faults will apply to 17pw15-? As well,
17pw15-6 only - stuck in sby smd cap between earth and ic827 (diode?) remove and fit 1uf 50v cap(this mod was done in the factory on later production runs.
in sby then shuts down when power pressed - d845
int off - brocken wire on tr806 - r830 dry - c878+c877 - dry smooth block on pcb + pegs - q818 leaky under load - c982 dry - check pcb for solder snots not removed during manufacture, can cause int shorts
Stuck in sby - c818+c857 4700uf - c878+c877 - q837 bsh103 - check all 1000uf caps in secondary - ic829 -q823 short -
int or no inverter - c904 remove and fit 1uf 50v - q829 short
dead - ic806 blown + c892 +c801 - bridge - there are kits available for major failures but check everything as often more components fail other than in the kit -
psu fitted to 42 inch ver 17pw16 i think - very int sby bad print under q804 causing a short ,remove and scrape around pads and refit.
There are many more faults but didn’t write them down, which is silly because I have the memory of a goldfish. Will post more as a remember them.

Hi, and thanks Daz,

As to the goldfish, well they always know where the food is. Pushing it a bit, but have you similar expertise with  Proview IP05-150 ?

  Thanks again - Chris.

Hi Daz,

Just a thought on the Proview, mine functions quite normally for a while, then it flips out and a little red LED lower LH on the PS lights up just to confirm it - handy - is this typical ?

Pain shared - and so forth - Chris.

hi chris
not sure on this one, the led may just refer to the inverter, i know it flashes if you dont plug in the backlight, but this dosnt stop the set from working,if its a solid led maybe a dry in the inverter stage?
on the few ive worked on i dont recall the led lighting up for the power faults ive had.
keep trying
try to resist hitting it with a hammer

Hi Daz, currently have mislaid the hammer,

Thanks for your thoughts. Thought to check all PS caps for ESR and found them all OK. Did notice that the power/Invertor  panel 20v output was 26v, both working and with Red Led solidly glowing, and no backlight, but sound continuimg.

Might be useful - Chris - but, where did I leave that hammer ?
