Wharfedale L1911W-A
« on: October 26, 2009,11:33:02 »
Hi Folks,

Have one of these - totally dead. Phihong PSA066-120H PS puts out a stable 12V (it's only output) Main panel and invertor (both sides of the fuse) are at 12V. Thought I was on to something discovering the main panel Buck output was 3.5V, then found that 1501-50's do just that. Always feel there should be a 5V somewhere.

Think I just need a main board or a smashed screen - any thoughts ? - Chris.

Hi Daz and thanks,

5v present on U7, large chips warmish but set like a Dodo. No LED or voltage changes pressing on/off, on set or RCU.

   Hmm - Chris.

hi chris
some voltages for you to check
u8 eprom next to 5vreg should have 5v on pin 8
the connector on the stndby led pcb should be pin 1 - 3.8v,pin2 - 5v, pin 3+4 - ov,pin5 - 1.73v
maybe you can trace the missing voltage?
just noticed, all major ics are stone cold in stand by ,i think you might have a cpu fault if there getting warm.
let me know how you get on

Hi Daz,

Checked voltages as suggested, on U8 5v present pin 8, but on the LED PCB pin 1 was 2v, pin 2 was 5v, 3 and 4 0v and pin 5 also 0v.

Any further thoughts ? - Chris.

PS just fettled a Phihong PSM210, so feeling chipper.

Thanks Daz,

Another for the pile, but that's current Wharfedale, didn't they formerly make decent loudspeakers ?

   Might retire, again  - Chris.
