panasonic tx32pd50
« on: November 27, 2009,15:39:38 »
hi, i'm new to the forum and hoping somebody can help with my problem.
i've got a 4 to 5 year old tx32pd50 tv and it has just started to show signs of a problem. when the tv has been off for a few hours and then turned on from cold the picture is distorted and displays wide white vertical bars across the screen. this lasts for about 2 minutes after which the picture clears and returns to its usual quality and stays that way. i have tried leaving the set in standby but the same problem occurs. i do not think it is the tuner as its the same with the freeview input just for the first couple of mins while something warms up. it is not a great problem as it is but is this an early warning sign of impending doom. i would not like to get caught out over the xmas period with no tv.

Hi Sparky,

Vertical bars with a field fault - nonplussed, but always ready to learn.

Keeping you on your toes but awaiting a rude reposte - Chris.
