Has any managed to fix one of these 17PW20 power supplies for blue LED just dimming at switch on. I've got one, fitted KT09 (CHS) but no different. Replaced a couple of 1000uf 16V caps that read low, but still the same. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dansford, how can you measure the capacitance without a capacitance meter, never mind the ESR reading.
I'm thinking of doing a test to see how low a capacitance value would work for these two caps in these vestel power supplies.

Hi

I ve just repaired one of these and the fault was stuck in standby, I thought the Inverter was faulty, because when i disconnected it the power supply would stay running and with it connected the set would shut down.

Anyway i checked all the usual problems i.e. the 2 blue caps etc., but everything was ok. Then I put my ESR meter accross the main smoothing cap C819 and there was no reading!

A new cap and the set runs like a dream

So before you fit a kit, stick your ESA meter across the smoother, you dont even need to take the board out, it could save you a lot of time

Make sure you discharge the cap before measuring it!
