Philips 32pf3320
« on: February 15, 2010,09:15:06 »
Hello!

Could anybody help me? I have a problem my philips lcd (32pf3320). One day screen went blank but the backlight is still working and there is sound. I found info via net I should replace t-con board. I bought another lcd with broken screen but same chassis (26pf3320 - difference is only the screen size) and I reassembled that. Unfortunately I can't remove t-con board from it because I'm not able to reconnect ribbon cables. I found here a lg-philips t-con and inverter quick repair manual and it says only about replace of t-con board "Separate the 50pin FFC". Yeah but how to? I'm afraid if I pull the cables too hard they will break away. You can see the type of connector here (3rd image):
Code: [Select]

I'm afraid 2 board aren't compatible with each other... Please give me advice if you can. Thanks in advance!

Have you removed the other cables from the board?

Usually the connectors (black and white one in pic 3) are opened specifically so they release their grip on the ribbon, if you force it u will either rip or break something.

It would appear that the connector is released by either prying the black part of the connector outwards or upwards depending. Use caution and try using your fingers/ nails to open the connector, if that fails a small flat head screwdriver should suffice.

I think that answers your question?

Many thanks, meanwhile I found out I can open connectors with my nails upwards so it is ok. First I thought I should pull out cables. Now you can see my next problem here: http://www.tv.quuq.org/forum/index.php?topic=2582.0

You know my colleague shared some info orally from this russian page so I can't paste here any translated text.
Don't worry about it he could translate only unuseful things...
